The Goal

From artwork supplied, produce hard wearing yet attractive promotion drinks coasters for an up-coming promotion.

The Process

Our investment into cutting edge printing technology really pays off with jobs such as these – turning a job that would of required many man hours to complete into a simple 4 step semi-automated process. It starts with the hand off of the artwork to our reprographic department, where the file is checked for errors – a fresh set of eyes is always beneficial! At this stage a cutter guide is created and the job is imposed onto the target sheet size, ensuring that all available space is utilised, this is not only important in order to minimise waste, it also allows us to keep the run length down making it quicker to produce. The job was then printed using our 2.5m wide flatbed ultra violet printer directly onto 3mm black foamex after which a thin layer of gloss laminate is added – this not only adds protection to the surface but also makes the colours really pop. From here the laminated sheets are placed onto our flatbed cutting plotter where it individually cuts each coaster to their shape.

The Result

They not only look great, but they are a fun, personalised promotion that is cost effective and easy to produce. Remember also that these would be equally effective as a personalised gift with you being able to turn a family picture or a favourite piece of art into something that you can use on a daily basis.
