On Saturday the 27th August we attended The Summer Picnic Ball at Lydes Court, Toddington in aid of both the ‘Injured Jockey Fund’ and ‘The Great Western Air Ambulance Charity’. The kind support and generosity from everyone who took part in the Tombola and Silent Auction managed to raise an extraordinary amount of £7000. The evening consisted of a Pimms reception, a ‘bring your own picnic’ meal, Disco and Silent Auction.
Typecraft and Finnick Creative worked alongside the organisers in producing the design and print for the event free of charge.
The Auction and Tombola contained an array of bespoke items ranging from a selection of horse supplements to the ‘Star Lot’ of a stable tour at Willie Mullins in Ireland.
Here is a little bit of information behind the charities for this event…
The Injured Jockeys Fund has provided assistance since 1964 to any rider –including our sponsored jockey Harry Stock – and have helped over 1,000 jockeys and their families. Help is supplied to recently injured and recovering jockeys who may suffer the consequences of injuries sustained in the past. Our charity of the year, The Great Western Air Ambulance, was also chosen in support of The Summer Picnic Ball. This air ambulance charity saves the lives of people in critical condition in the surrounding areas of Bath, Bristol, North and East Somerset, Gloucestershire, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset and parts of Wiltshire. They need to raise £2.3 million a year to stay operating and receive no government or national funding. Learn more about this charity at… http://www.greatwesternairambulance.com/
